Personal Care
What is personal care?
Personal care is a broad term that describes a range of services that can help you with daily tasks and hygiene:
-
Personal hygiene: Bathing, showering, washing hair, shaving, brushing teeth, nail care, and skincare
-
Dressing: Getting dressed and getting ready for bed
-
Toileting: Assisting with using the toilet or changing incontinence aids
-
Medication: Prompting and administering medication
-
Meal preparation: Cooking meals and helping with eating
-
Clinical interventions: Changing and maintaining a catheter or stoma bag

Your personal care can be provided in the comfort of your own home, and can be tailored to your individual needs. A trained personal carer can help you maintain your dignity and health, and achieve your desired routines.
Personal care can be provided as a live-in care service or as respite care. Visiting carers can make a significant impact with just a 30 minute visit a day up to multiple visits a day, every day.
Did you know? Personal care is a regulated activity. Before you let a company or agency provide you or a loved one with personal care you should check the company is registered with the CQC to undertake such duties.
Example Visit
Personal care can be added in with other calls such as your morning call.

The care staff would support with morning duties such as getting out of bed and assisting with getting ready for the day. This could include washing, dressing, hair and teeth. Then the care staff would prepare a breakfast and if needed morning medication. Light household duties could also be integrated to give you peace of mind that all is taken care of. Each call you require would be tailored perfectly to match what you require or desire.
